News from the "Key 9":
On Monday, June 22, 2009, the Board of Directors of the Sam Houston Area Council voted unanimously to approve the proposed realignment of the Tomahawk District into two districts to be designated "North" and "South" until suitable names are announced by the constituents of each district. Anyone wishing to submit names for the new districts can forward their suggestions to Rick Conley at rgconley@comcast.net .

The nominating committee is diligently working to fill the slates of each district with key leaders that will be voted on at a special election. Once key leaders are in place for each district there will be a District Training Workshop open to all adult leaders located in both districts to heighten awareness of district operations and needs. All adult leaders should attend this special training to better understand how the district works and why its success is essential to the success of every scouting unit. Please be alert to future communications concerning your new district!
